The important part of this section is to know how to apply the Biot-Savart Law in high level ways to derive the equation for the magnetic field of a solenoid. In order to proceed, you must think of a solenoid of length L as N circular loops lined up side by side next to each other.

1. We must determine how many loops there are in a short length Δ''l''. In order to do this we would need to find the loops per meter of the entire solenoid. This would be N/L. Then, to determine the loops in the short Δ''l'', we would do (N/L)Δ''l''.
