Telescopes are tools used to study the night sky. The key to any telescope is getting as much information from the night sky as possible. This is done by taking advantage of the physical properties of light.

  1. I found this topic very interesting because the the physics are very important in allowing astrophysicists to extract as much information as possible from small amounts of light.
  2. As an aerospace engineering major with a focus in rocket science, I found this topic to be very related to my major. From a broad perspective, I plan to go into a field engineering machines to aid space exploration, while telescopes do just that.
